Family Adventure Days
Experience Family Adventure Days at the Connecticut Historical Society! This summer program gives kids the opportunity to uncover the past through exploration and discovery. Join us for five weeks of drop-in fun for the whole family! Each week we will explore a new theme from long ago by looking closely at artifacts, making crafts, playing games, and much more.
Family Adventure Days will run from July 2nd to July 30th on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm. These programs are included with admission. Click here for more information regarding each week’s theme.
Come enjoy the fourth season of the Connecticut Historical Society’s outdoor concert series! The concerts will take place on the beautiful front lawn at 1 Elizabeth Street, Hartford on the third Thursday of each month throughout the summer. Please see our upcoming events page for specific information regarding the artists who will be highlighted each month. Grounds will be open for seating and picnicking beginning at 5:00 pm, with the concert beginning at 6:00 pm.
Visitors are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs or blankets. Food trucks will be available at each concert, but families are also welcome to pack their own picnic dinner. We will also provide lawn games from 5:00 pm until the end of the concert.
All of the CHS outdoor concerts are free and open to the public.
Every Saturday at 2:00 pm, join us for a guided tour of our newest exhibit, opening June 11, 2020. Manufacturing Victory: Arsenal of Democracy, is an inspiring story of the Home Front effort that produced tanks, planes, ships, and guns with staggering speed and unparalleled energy during World War II.
Exhibit Tours are free with admission.
