Wheels for All

Sep 16, 2014 - Sep 20, 2014

Imagine what it must have been like to cruise along the bumpy, unpaved roads of Connecticut cities and towns for the first time! In conjunction with EnvisionFest, a selection of early bicycles from the CHS collection will be on display at Connecticut’s Old State House including an 1869 Velocipede made in Thomsponville, bicycles made in Hartford by the Pope Manufacturing Co., and a child’s tricycle from around 1914. And don’t miss Mark Twain’s high wheel bicycle on display in the exhibit History Is All Around Us!

Please note the museum & research center will be closed for Thanksgiving (11/22)
