Adventures with Art
Recommended ages: 3-4
Jump into the colorful world of art! Children will look closely at colors, textures, and shapes as you investigate different types of paintings. Using historic paintings from the CHS collection as inspiration, kids can create a piece of artwork using pom poms, foam shapes, feathers, and more!
Stories in the Stitches
Recommended ages: 5-8
What kinds of stories can we learn from a quilt? How can the smallest details help reveal those stories? Children will look closely at a variety of quilts from the CHS collection, and discover some interesting tales from Connecticut’s past. Then, they can design their own quilt square!
