A Year in Review: CMCH Annual Members’ Meeting

Join us virtually Monday, May 17 at 5:30 pm for the CMCH’s Annual Members’ Meeting, where we will update you on the work of the CMCH in 2020.

Last year, the CMCH reached new audiences throughout the country and beyond with our quick pivot to virtual programming. During these unprecedented times, we have continued to bring our exhibitions and collections, as well as our adult, youth and family, and school programs to our audiences through online presentations, at-home educational activity kits and the John G. Martin Distance Learning Studio. Two major projects, installing compact shelving in the Hoadley Room and the construction of the Mowell Family Digitization Lab, have recently been completed.

We will look back at our compelling exhibitions, including the traveling exhibitions Manufacturing Victory: The Arsenal of Democracy and Fighting on the Home Front: Propaganda Posters of WWII, as well as CMCH’s exhibition, A Vote of Her Own: The Long Fight for Woman Suffrage. We will also look at our current major exhibitions, Freedom Journey 1965: Photographs of the Selma to Montgomery March by Stephen Somerstein, a traveling exhibition from the New-York Historical Society and the CMCH’s own exhibition, Connecticut Freedom Workers: Remembering the Civil Rights Movement.
