Behind the Scenes: Love and Lust

February 9, 2019 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm |

Valentine’s Day is around the corner, and we’ve got you covered. This behind-the-scenes tour of our collection will highlight objects associated with love and romance. Some of these stories are romantic, and some are a little risqué – so adults only please!

When you visit our exhibit galleries, you are actually experiencing only a tiny fraction of the CHS collection. Hanging under muslin, placed carefully on shelves, hiding in drawers, the objects and images that tell the story of Connecticut are waiting to be shared. We invite you to experience that history in a way only a very few can–come and explore with an all-access pass to see hidden treasures of Connecticut history and learn about how museums work.

The tour lasts approximately 1 hour and takes visitors to the non-public areas of the museum to explore the riches of the CHS collections.

$10 for CHS members, $15 for non-members.

Space is limited, and pre-registration is strongly recommended. Questions? Call (860) 236-5621 x289 or email natalie_belanger@chs.org.

To support the effort to contain the spread of COVID-19, the Connecticut Historical Society will temporarily close now through April 22. We will re-evaluate the situation at that time. All public programs and tours are canceled during this time. We hope to reschedule some of the events if possible.
