Building Arts & Culture in Downtown Hartford: Opening Reception for Satellite Exhibit at TheaterWorks

February 19, 2015 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Come celebrate the installation of  Building Arts & Culture in Downtown Hartford: A Brief History at TheaterWorks. The satellite exhibit visually explores the presence of arts and culture organizations in downtown Hartford with an emphasis on how they were affected by urban renewal projects beginning in the 1950s. Artist Bob Gregson will share his memories of Hartford’s late-1970s arts scene that include his role as a founder of Sidewalk Inc., “Thursday is a Work of Art, ” and “art attacks” that included everything from spontaneous dance performances to giant Happy Faces wishing passersby “Have a Nice Day!” Thank you to TheaterWorks for hosting the satellite exhibit and the reception. Light refreshments will be served.

The reception is FREE. Please consider buying tickets for TheaterWorks wonderful show, Dancing Lessons.
