Lunch and Learn: Good Trouble: Learning From Those Who Fought For Justice

Join us as Hartford’s own, Steve Thornton, shares local stories from his recently published book, Good Trouble: A Shoeleather History of Nonviolent Direct ActionThe book is a “riveting chronicle” of stories that prove time and again the actions of thoughtful, committed people can change their country and the world. It is a brisk, inspiring primer for veteran activists and newcomers alike.

About the speaker

Steve Thornton has spent more than forty-five years in Hartford where he was involved in housing, anti-racist, and union organizing. Now he chronicles stories of the city’s working people, both past and present. He focuses on protest movements including suffrage, peace, and environmental campaigns as well as the struggles of immigrant communities.
