    Family Activity Kits are free take-home resources for families to enjoy, bringing history and fun together in the comfort of your own home! With themes changing every other month, you can enjoy these kits all year long. November-December’s theme is “From Flora to Fauna,” an exploration of Connecticut's natural landscape and how it has been used by Native Peoples throughout history and today.

    The Inspire Center brings history and problem-solving together in a hands-on creative space for visitors of all ages! Look closely at objects from the Connecticut Museum collection, get inspired, and work together to create something new. December’s challenge is to create a one-of-a-kind doll!

    Visit the Museum for a day of wintry fun! Families will make holiday poppers to celebrate the new year, decorate cards for loved ones, and create a one-of-a-kind window decoration inspired by some of Connecticut's iconic wintry window displays.

    Join us for family story time at the Museum! Cozy up with beanbags and enjoy a reading of a book all about creativity and innovation. Then, families will be challenged to embrace their own inventive spirit by getting crafty in the Inspire Center!

    Lot of people love coffee! But where does it all come from? Visit the Museum for a reading of Slothee Wants Coffee while sipping hot cocoa (or coffee for the adults!) and munching on treats.

    What adventures can happen within museum walls? How do you unlock those adventures? Join us for a special reading of "The Key to Adventure," the Museum's newly published children's book! Munch on treats, sip hot chocolate, and decorate a special key to take on endless imaginative adventures.

Here in CT, we have many different black communities that celebrate their culture- and they all do it differently. Learn about black communities from Puerto Rico, Jamaica, Georgia and more, that all bring their traditions to our state.

    Can you show someone a sound? Can you “see” objects without using your eyes? Explore how senses work as you try to guess the items in a mystery box using only your sense of touch, test out different ways sound travels, and create a sensory portrait!

    Join us for a special showing of Tangled and tag along with Rapunzel and Flynn Ryder on their quest to see the magic floating lights - and enjoy the many adventures they experience along the way! Free popcorn and juice boxes will be provided. Families are encouraged to bring pillows and blankets.
