Your gift to the Connecticut Museum helps us continue our mission and make a lasting impact. Explore the many ways you can make a difference!

Make a Cash Gift

Cash gifts are straightforward and effective way to support our work with the added tax benefit of being deductible up to 50% of your adjusted gross income (AGI). Unused deductions may be carried forward for five years. Through making a cash gift, you will be supporting the Museum’s ongoing work from exhibitions, collections, education, research to cultural sustainability.

Gifts can be made via an online donation to the Annual Fund, or a cash gift can be designated to support your the favorite aspect of the Connecticut Museum of Culture and History. If you wish to make a memorial or honorary donation, it will be recognized at the front desk on a specific date and support our mission.

Appreciated Stocks and Mutual Funds

This may be a good time for you to take advantage of the benefits of donating appreciated securities. When you give securities that have increased in value and have been held for more than one year, you receive the immediate reward of an income tax charitable deduction based on the current value of the asset as well as the avoidance of capital gains taxes. Tax-Free IRA Charitable Rollover

The IRA charitable rollover, which allows taxpayers age 70 ½ or older to make tax-free charitable gifts of up to $100,000 per year directly from their Individual Retirement Accounts to eligible charities, including the Connecticut Museum, is now a permanent part of the U.S. tax code. This option can be used to satisfy required minimum IRA distributions.
