Did you know the first American submarine was invented in Connecticut? What about the first practical helicopter? Join us at the museum to learn more about these transportation innovations! Families will make a toy submarine, fly paper airplanes and helicopters, and pose in a hot air balloon-inspired photo booth while exploring the history of transportation in Connecticut.
What happens when fire and water join forces? Join us for a special showing of “Elemental,” and follow Ember, a strong-willed fire person, and Wade, a fun-loving water person, on their adventures through Element City and Firetown! Families will then get a goody bag to take home that includes hands-on activities related to main themes of the movie.
Lightning McQueen wins again! Join us for a special showing of Cars, a movie about a famous, trouble-making racecar who finds himself stranded along Route 66. Watch as he forms unexpected friendships with a group of silly, fun-loving cars and trucks from the tiny town of Radiator Springs. Families will then get a goody bag full of hands-on activities all about automobile manufacturing in Connecticut.
