Join us for special dance performances by Layavinyasa Company! During this program, all ages can experience and enjoy the traditional Indian art forms of Kuchipudi Dance and Carnatic music that embody stories from ancient scriptures. Performances will take place from 11:30 – 12:15 and again from 1:00 – 1:45.

It’s raining cats and dogs! Learn about some of the largest storms to ever hit Connecticut, pretend to be a weather reporter giving a forecast on TV, and then create your very own “storms in a jar” by performing special science experiments!
Visit the Museum for a day of snowy fun! Families will design one-of-a-kind snow globes, make holiday poppers to celebrate the new year, and decorate holiday cards to send to loved ones!
Jump into the world of Richard Scarry’s Busy Town! Learn about the Connecticut author and illustrator who created this iconic make-believe world for children’s books, pose in a photo booth with cut outs of some of the characters, play games, and design your own vehicle inspired by the whacky, one-of-a-kind vehicles driven by the citizens of Busytown!
Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month at the Museum! Families will explore the traveling Smithsonian exhibition “¡Pleibol! In the Barrios and the Big Leagues” to learn more about the experiences of Latinos and Latinas in baseball throughout history and today. Then, they will design a unique team logo, pretend to be a sportscaster, and more!
Are you ready for fall? Families will look closely at historic images of autumn in Connecticut, make pumpkin decor, and play various fall-themed games, including pumpkin ring toss!
